Chocolate Pecan Pie
Ingredients
- 1 (4-ounce) package sweet baking chocolate or 4 squares semi-sweet baking chocolate, broken into pieces
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 cup light or dark corn syrup
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups pecan halves or chopped walnuts
- 9-inch unbaked deep-dish pie shell
- Frozen whipped topping, thawed (optional)
Directions
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cook chocolate and butter in large, microwave-safe bowl on high (100 percent power) for 1 to 2 minutes or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted.
Stir in sugar, corn syrup, eggs and vanilla until well blended. Stir in pecans. Pour into pie shell. Bake 50 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean.
Cool on wire rack. Serve with whipped topping. Makes 8 servings.
