Texas Sheet Cake
Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup water
- 8 tablespoons cocoa
- 3 stick margarine
- 1 box confection sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1-cup pecan pieces (optional)

BRING TO BOIL 2 sticks margarine, 4 tablespoons cocoa, 1-cup water
POUR INTO LG. MIXING BOWL & ADD 2 cups flower, 2 cups sugar, 1/2-teaspoon salt BEAT THIS WELL AND THEN ADD 2 eggs. 1/2 cup sour cream, 1-teaspoon baking soda. BAKE IN 400 OVEN for 16-20 minutes in a LARGE 11 X 17 cookie sheet (greased but no flour)
Icing
BRING TO BOIL 1 stick margarine, 4 tablespoons cocoa, and 6 tablespoons milk. REMOVE FROM HEAT AND BEAT IN 1 box confection sugar, 1-teaspoon vanilla and 1 cup pecan pieces (if desired). ICE CAKE RIGHT FROM OVEN WHILE HOT.
Note: This freezes well and great for transporting to activities.
