Grandma Kates Fried Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 8 cups water
  • Around 6-7 cups oatmeal
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt



Directions

Cook as you would for breakfast oatmeal but dont have to cook as long. This will be thick. Press down into greased bread pans. Let set several hours or overnight. Slice and roll in flour and fry until brown. You will need to add more grease as you fry. Serve with butter and syrup. This makes a large amount. If you wish crispier oatmeal, you can add a little cornmeal to the flour you roll it in.
