Great Grandma Arbuckles Brown Sugar Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 cups flour
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 C milk
  • 3 C brown sugar
  • 1/2 C crisco
  • 1 lb butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp almond flavoring
  • 1 tsp vanilla



Directions

Blend butter, Crisco and brown sugar. Add eggs. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add mixture alternately with milk. Add flavoring. Bake at 350(F) for 1 hr. Bake in bundt pan.

This is an heirloom recipe from my g. grandmother who lived in Scottsburg, Indiana:)

*You can either leave this plain OR use the Brown Sugar Frosting
