Mt. Hermon Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 cups plus 4 tbls. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/2 tsps. vanilla extract



Directions

1. Cream butter and shortening in mixer. Add sugar and beat well.

2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.

3. Add flour and baking powder, alternately with milk and vanilla.

4. Pour batter into greased and floured tube pan.

5. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325 degrees.
