Green Beans Almondine

Ingredients

  • 2 cans French Style green beans
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 pkg slivered almonds



Directions

Mix green beans, tomatoes and almonds together, heat on the stove and serve. Simple. Easy. Quick GOOD!;)

Witchs Black Brew (with severed hand!)

Ingredients

  • 1 (.13 ounce) envelope unsweetened grape soft drink mix
  • 1 (.13 ounce) envelope unsweetened orange soft drink mix
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 3 quarts cold water
  • 1 liter ginger ale



Directions

To make a frozen hand, wash a disposable glove, fill with water, seal with a rubber band and freeze until hard.

Stir together grape soft drink mix, orange soft drink mix, sugar and water until solids are dissolved.
Combine with chilled ginger ale just before serving.
Dip the frozen hand briefly in warm water, then peel off the glove.
Float the prepared hand in the punch bowl for a ghastly effect.
Makes 32 serving

Boxing Day Turkey Curry

Ingredients

  • 228g Cooked turkey
  • 2 Tbsp. Chinese Hot and Spicy Concentrate Paste
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 2 medium Potatoes (large dice)
  • 2 Firm Tomatoes
  • 1 Chicken stock cube
  • 113g water
  • 1 Tbsp. Sweet Chilli Sauce
  • 5g Chopped Coriander
  • 5g Chopped Spring Onions
  • 3 Tbsp. Peanut or vegetable oil



Directions

1. Heat oil in a pan and fry sliced onions until they start to caramelise.
2. Add curry paste and cook for 5 minutes, adding water from time to time. Keep mixing to prevent curry paste sticking to the pan.
3. Next add potatoes, tomatoes and water.
4. When potatoes are nearly cooked, add stock cube, cooked turkey and sweet chilli sauce. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
5. Last of all mix in chopped coriander and spring onions, cover pan and turn off heat.
6. As turkey has already been cooked once it is advisable not to freeze any leftovers.

Carnations Famous Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients

  • 1-2/3 cups evaporated milk
  • 1-1/2 cups canned pumpkin
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1-1/2 tsps. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell



Directions

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

2. Mix sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, cloves, pumpkin, milk and eggs together until smooth.

3. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake for 15 minutes. Reduce to 350 degrees and continue baking for 30 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. During baking, if crust edges get too dark, cover them with strips of foil. Cool on rack.

Christmas Date Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 c. wesson oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp.salt
  • 1 tsp.soda.
  • 1 tsp.vanilla
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • Red and Green candied cherries
  • 1 c. dates,chopped
  • 1 tsp.cinnamon
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp.nutmeg



Directions

Heat oven to 300 degrees.
Grease and flour a bundt pan.Place red and green cherries in bottom of pan.
In a large bowl,cream together the oil and sugar,
add vanilla and eggs.Mix together flour,cinnamon,nutmeg,soda,salt and dates.
Stir into creamed mixture,alternately with buttermilk.Pour into pan and bake 50-60 minutes ot until cake tests done.

TOPPING:
1 c. sugar
1/2 c.buttermilk
1/2 tsp.soda
1 stick butter
Put the above ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil,stirring to dissolve sugar.
Pour hot topping over hot cake,let cool about 10 minutes before removing from pan.
