Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 tablespoon onion — finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Pepper and/or hot sauce to taste
- 16 ounces tomato juice or tomato sauce
- 2 cups milk
Directions
Combine butter and onion in 2 quart glass microwave dish. Microwave on high for 2 minutes or until butter is melted. Add flour, sugar, salt and pepper, mix well. Stir in tomato juice gradually. Microwave on high 4 minutes or until heated through, stirring once. Stir in milk gradually. Microwave on medium high 8-10 minutes or just to the simmering point, stirring every 2 minutes.

Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 3 tablespoons chopped green onions
- 1/3 cup flour
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups cooked wild rice
- 1/2 cup cooked, cubed ham
- 1/4 cup finely grated carrots
- 3 tablespoons chopped pecans
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 1 cup half-and-half
- Fresh chopped parsley, optional
Directions
In a Dutch oven, melt butter or margarine and saute onions. Blend in flour; gradually add broth. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Boil 1 minute.
Stir in wild rice, ham, carrots, pecans and pepper; simmer 5 minutes. Blend in half-and-half; heat to serving temperature. Garnish with parsley. Makes 6 servings.

Ingredients
- Creamy Wild Rice Soup
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/2 cup uncooked wild rice (Uncle Bens Long Grain & Wild Rice Original recipe is good)
- 8 slices of bacon fried and crumbled
- 6 T. butter
- 3 T. chopped onion
- 1/4 cup shredded carrot
- Saute the onion and carrot in butter until tender
- 1/3 cup flour
- 2 (14 oz.) cans chicken broth
- 1/4 teas. pepper
- 1 cup Half & Half
Directions
4 cups of water
1/2 t. salt
1/2 cup uncooked wild rice (I use Uncle Bens Long Grain & Wild Rice Original recipe
with 23 herbs and seasonings 6oz. box)
Bring to a boil & reduce heat, simmer for 50 to 55 minutes.
8 slices of bacon fried and crumbled
6 T. butter
3 T. chopped onion
1/4 cup shredded carrot
Saute the onion and carrot in butter until tender.
Stir in 1/3 cup flour
2 (14 oz.) cans chicken broth
1/4 teas. pepper
Mix all of the ingredients together so far.
Add 1 cup Half & Half and stir in
can keep warming in a crockpot:)

Ingredients
- Onion
- bellpepper
- leeks (if you can find them)
- green onions
- sliced garlic
- 1 Tbsp oil
- 1 Tbsp butter
Directions
Chop onion, pepper and leeks in food processor. use as much or as little as you desire. in a saucepan, add oil and melt butter, add chopped vegetables and saute about 5 minutes. Add chopped green onions and sliced garlic. Cook about 1 more minute. Serve as a topping for fish.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds round steak, cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1 pound carrots, cut into 1 inch pieces*
- 1 pound small red potatoes, quartered*
- 1 (8oz) pkg sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 red bell pepper, diced**
- 1 (14 1/2 oz) can diced tomatoes**
- 1 (6oz) can tomato paste
- 3/4 cup beef broth
- 1/3 cup red wine
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a 6 quart slow cooker, and cook, covered, on LOW for 7 1/2 hours.
*2 (1 pound) pkgs frozen stew vegetables may be substituted for carrots and poatoes
**1 (14 1/2 oz) can dice tomatoes with green peppers and onions may be substituted for red bell pepper and diced tomatoes.
