Ginger Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- ¾ cup shortening
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup molasses
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons soda
- 2 cups flour
Directions
Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg and molasses, beating well. Sift dry ingredients and add to first mixture. Mix well. Form into balls. Roll in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet, allowing room to spread.
Bake in preheated 325-degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Do not overbake.
